Ingredients:
- 3 pears of choice
- 1 tbsp of sugar
- 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon, divided
- 1/4 a lemon, juiced
- 3/8 cup all purpose flour (or all purpose gluten free flour)
- 3/8 cup rolled oats (or gluten free oats)
- 3/8 cup brown sugar
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter + more for greasing the pan
- Plain yogurt or greek yogurt
- Optional: vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for dessert
Directions:
- 🔪 Prep Pears and Butter
- Clean the pears, cut out the core and any seeds, and cut into 1/2 inch (or bite size) pieces.
- Cut 1/2 cup of butter into 1/4 inch cubes
- 🔪 Prep Pan
- Grease an 8x8 baking dish and set aside. Or use any baking dish that fits all the pears + crumble on top, without it over flowing.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- 🔪 Build and Bake Crumble
- Toss the pears in a medium bowl with sugar, cornstarch, 1 tsp of cinnamon, and lemon juice. Add the pear mixture to the baking dish.
- In the now empty pear bowl, toss together the flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, and butter. Use your hands to squeeze the mixture together until the butter is fully incorporated into the mixture and it resembles wet sand.
- Evenly pour the crumble topping on top of the pears. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the pears are bubbling and the crumble topping is golden brown. Let cool for 10+ minutes.
- Serve Serve a scoop of pear crumble with a dollop of yogurt. Also great with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Reheat Options
- Serve cold, at room temperature, or reheated in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or in the oven at 300 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
