Ingredients:
- 1.5 tbls salted butter (or DF butter substitute)
- 1.5 tbls all-purpose flour (or GF flour substitute)
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup milk (or DF milk substitute, preferably one with neutral flavor)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
Directions:
- In a small sauce pan, melt butter and add the flour to the pan, and whisk together to make a roux. Stir constantly for about 2 minutes.
- Add the broth and milk, and whisk together to breakup any lumps.
- Stir in garlic powder, salt and pepper.
- Bring to a simmer and continue cooking until mixture thickens, about 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and use right away.
